Summary Compensation Table (SCT)

The mandatory proxy table reporting each named executive officer’s pay by column.

The Summary Compensation Table is the disclosure every U.S. public company’s proxy statement is required to include under SEC Regulation S-K Item 402(c), listing each named executive officer’s pay across a fixed set of columns — salary, bonus, stock awards, option awards, non-equity incentive plan compensation, the change in pension value, and all other compensation — for the most recent fiscal year plus the two before it.

The table’s "Total" column is the sum of every other column in that row for that year. It is the single most commonly cited pay figure in press coverage and in shareholder proposals, precisely because it is standardized: every company reports the same columns in the same order, which is what makes company-to-company comparison possible at all.

What the table does not capture is realized value — what an executive actually received in cash by exercising options or selling vested shares. The stock and option award columns are grant-date accounting estimates, not proceeds.

In practice

Apple's Summary Compensation Table reports Tim Cook's fiscal 2025 total compensation at $74,294,811, the sum of every column the table prints for that year.
